Ultraviolet Protection Factor UPF Test results

3M Scotchtint™ CS 35 Black and SPCS 35 Black have been scientifically tested in accordance with Australian standard AS/NZS4399: 1996 -Sun protective Clothing- Evaluation and Classification, Appendix A, and have achieved an official rating of UPF factor 50 +.

This rating means that when the film is applied to glass, it reduces the amount of solar ultra violet radiation (UVR) both the UVA and UVB, coming through the glass by a factor of 50 times.

A UPF rating of 50 + classifies the 3M Films in the " Excellent Protection category".

The detailed test report shows, that the 3M films achieved a mean UPF factor of between 150 and 270 times. This is a great result however these numbers may not be used for advertising purposes as the official rating only goes as high as 50+.
